Swimming Lessons - Year 6

5th June 2019
As part of our Physical Education Programme for Key Stage 2, we have planned a programme of swimming lessons for the Summer Term. All pupils are expected to take part. On site the programme will be delivered by school staff and swimming teachers from the St Ivo Leisure Centre.
Year 6:
Second half term: Wednesdays: June 5 th , June 12 th , June 19 th , June 26 th , July 3 rd , July 10 th Please complete the permission form link Year 6 Swimming and answer the questions on your child’s swimming ability.
Please may we ask for a contribution of £21.00 towards the cost of transport to the pool and insurance during the 6 weeks. Deadline for completion is 29th March.
We would very much like to give our children the chance to take part in this opportunity but the school has no supplementary funding to subsidise the activity.
While a parental contribution is voluntary, in reality we have no alternative source of funding. As no funding exists to subsidise the programme, activities can only take place if we receive sufficient contributions from parents and carers. If insufficient funds are received, then the activity may be cancelled and any monies already paid refunded.
However, if you feel you would welcome some financial help towards the cost of the visit, the school has a small amount of Pupil Premium Funding to support access for all pupils to Educational Enrichment Activities. Please speak to the Head teacher in confidence if you would like help.
Children will require water bottles and their usual morning snack. They will need a swimming costume or trunks. No bikinis or tankinis can be worn but children can bring goggles if they wish.
Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to enrich our curriculum at Fenstanton and Hilton School so it is more “hands on”, interesting and exciting. We are looking forward to a very interesting programme.
