Africa Day KS2

19th March 2018

Already, the children are showing lots of enthusiasm for our Africa topic. As part of our enrichment programme, we are planning an Africa day to really bring the topic alive. During the day, the children will experience five different African themed activities, such as making African necklaces, playing some African maths games, making banana bread from a traditional African recipe and we are also having a primary workshop in to lead African dance. At the end of the day, the children will join in in a shared performance of their African dancing.

Please can the children come in their normal school uniform for the day.

We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £3 for the day, to contribute to the cost of the dance workshop and the ingredients for the banana bread. Please pay online using SIMS Agora by Friday 23rd February. If unavoidable please send the money in a named envelope by the same deadline. Parental contributions for the activity are voluntary, but if we do not receive adequate contributions to cover the cost of the workshop and banana bread, we may have to cancel the activities. If this is the case, we will let you know by Friday 2nd March and all monies paid will be refunded.

Please note a hard copy of this letter will not be sent home. If you require a registration reference to set up SIMS Agora please contact the office.

Many thanks for your support,
