About Us

Our Pre-School building is sited in a large enclosed garden on a corner of the Fenstanton and Hilton Primary School playing field. 

We actively encourage the children to spend as much time as they like in our outside space, with free-flow in operation, allowing them to choose where and how they want to play.

In the garden there is climbing equipment, gravel pits, a construction area, play house for role play, sand pits and various holistic resources including loose parts and a mud kitchen, a firm favourite amongst many of the children.

We also have a vegetable garden where we grow seasonal produce together ready to eat for our healthy snacks.

Inside the setting we have areas for messy play, quiet time, role play and structured group activities. Between this and our outside areas, all seven areas of the curriculum are covered and are constantly being extended by our continuous provision.

The Pre-School has child sized toilets which make it easier for children to manage their own personal hygiene.

Each child has their own named peg and drawer.

Our Ethos 

We aim to provide the best possible start to our children’s future by offering a safe, secure, stimulating and enabling environment in which our children can feel confident to explore, have fun, and learn through play.

We recognise that children’s learning is holistic and that they are active learners who need space and opportunities to explore, experiment and invent.

We utilise free flow between inside and our large garden to accommodate the children’s different learning styles.  We encourage our children to explore their own limitations and to use their senses to explore their environment thus helping to develop healthy bodies and healthy minds.

All children are valued and respected for their own abilities, interests, ideas, thoughts and opinions.  We acknowledge the importance of the child’s voice, promoting communication skills in all areas of our setting.

Staff work in partnership with parents to ensure the progress of each unique child is supported.
