TARDIS Active Again!

STOP PRESS! PROFESSOR'S LATEST VISIT: TARDIS ACTIVE AGAIN: April 30th

Children arrived in the Hall today to find the light flashing on top of the Tardis. The Professor jumped out when a boy knocked on the door. It was quite a shock! He said that he had tried to come last week for assembly but was delayed by the ash cloud from the volcano in Iceland. Apparently the workings of the Tardis cannot cope with volcanic ash!

Children showed him the designs and prototypes for the Time Traveller's Hat. Then we shared all the information we had learnt about Fenstanton past, present and future over the last term. We told him about the visits of all the people he had sent to help us: Steve Smallman, the author, the Norris museum, a lady who brought Victorian Toys. We also thanked him for all the Fen artefacts that he sent to help us too in our Quest. We then gave him a present - chocolate to sustain him in the Tardis - and a child's mobile phone so that his baby Timelord son can keep in touch when The Professor is away on his quest to defeat the Master.

Our quest for knowledge continues ......... Knowledge is power!

January 2010

We cannot quite believe it but a very old telephone box, complete with flashing light has landed in our school hall!

The children are excited and puzzled - could it be to do with time travel? Despite our amazement, we are busy thinking about a few questions; ......'why it might be here?' .....'what might be inside?'.... 'What might happen next?'

Keep looking for further information as events unfold.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS! A TIMELORD HAS LANDED! THE PROFESSOR HAS ARRIVED!

Strange knockings came from the Tardis today in morning assembly. Then the Professor emerged. He came specially to find us! Our assignment is to find the Fen Key. This will be very important to help him win the battle against the evil Master. Knowledge will be his weapon: knowledge of past, present and future Fenstanton, Hilton and the Fen. But we have to find it for him. This will be a difficult task, but we will rise to the challenge! He left us a battered old Book of Names which contains lists of people from the past who could be important.

He will return, he says. Meanwhile we have his e-mail address to update him with our findings. He will send us special visitors to help us with our quest. A new Fenstanton Quest begins!

We also have to design for him a new hat fit for a time traveller.......

Homework Challenge

Last Thursday The Professor emerged from the Tardis! He asked the children if they could design for him a new hat fit for a time traveller. He has since been in touch and has given further details. If your child wishes to take part in this homework challenge they mjust:

  • Design or make a new hat fit for a time traveller
  • This can be presented in any form eg: a model, Power Point etc
  • A written description of why this hat is suitable for a time traveller should be included.
  • It must be brought into school the first week after the half-term holiday.

The Professor and I look forward to seeing all the children's ideas!

Time Capsule

All children will choose one item that they think people of the future will be interested to see and which will tell them something about life in Fenstanton 2010. A range of their ideas will be mounted in the Entrance Hall.
