PTA Information

9th September 2011

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to Fenstanton & Hilton School PTA

Who we are:

We are a group of parents who have committed some time and energies into raising money to enhance the experience our children will have at Fenstanton and Hilton School. We are a fund raising committee and the money raised goes to providing additional facilities at the school.

What we do:

We hold several events over the course of the school year with the sole aim of raising funds and enjoyment for the children and their families, along with encouraging rapport between parents and staff. Some of our regular events include school discos, Christmas and Summer Fayres and last year other events included a bingo night for the adults.

During the last school year these events raised a total of just over £5,000 and we thank all parents, carers and their families for their support and generosity. The PTA works closely with the school to identify new items/projects which the PTA can fund. This included 5 new computers, 4 computer workstations, art software, outdoor play equipment, recorders and other smaller items such as rucksacks for the Reception children and autograph books for the Year 6 leavers.

Already in time for the new school year the PTA have pledged £4,000 for the purchase of a further 10 computers.

Joining the PTA

If you would be interested in helping in any way then please come along to our AGM on Tuesday 20th September at 7.30pm

If you are interested in standing for the committee, and would like to know more, please contact our secretary Elaine Ward.  We will be looking for nominations for all positions to include Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer as well as general committee members and you will be invited to vote for those candidates putting themselves forward at the AGM.  You do not have to stand for a position on the committee if you do not wish to, come along and support us in any way you can.

Kind regards

Scott Lowrie
