Fun Maths Evening

All Parents and Carers are invited to a 'Fun Maths Evening' on Thursday 9th June from 6-7.30pm.

This is for parents and carers only, unless your child has been asked to help with a workshop.  If they have been asked, they will have brought a permission letter home for you to sign.

Please see below for details of how the evening will run.

6-6.30pm:     Introduction in the hall by Jane Crowden Maths advisor.

You will then have the opportunity to go to two workshop sessions of your choice.

6.35-6.55pm:     Workshop 1

7.00-7.20pm:     Workshop 2

You will be able to choose from the following workshops:

1.     Understanding division - Jane Crowden (Maths advisor)

2.     Addition and Subtraction activities - Mrs Farmer and Mr Hall

3.     'Finding the difference' - Mrs Barber

4.     Addition using number lines - Mrs Sumner

5.     Magic potions - measures and using number facts - Mrs Snooke

6.     Number dials - multiplication and division facts - Mrs Woodgate

7.     Cola in the bath - Problem solving - Mrs Henry

8.     A carousel of games to improve oral and mental maths - Mrs Byrne

9.     Understanding multiplication and the grid method - Mrs McKay

7.20pm:     Back to the hall for a round up of the evening and an opportunity for any questions?
