Sporting celebrations Summer Term 2008Yr 4 – Athletics FestivalThe children from Yr 4 took part with over 1000 other children from all over Cambridgeshire in this years Summer Athletics Festival. They worked around a series of Athletics stations throughout the day. We had a very successful day, as not only did the children do extremely well in the achievements side but they also receive one of only 2 awards for sportsmanship. The children were seen on Anglia Tonight receiving their medals! Well done Yr 4s we were very proud! ![]()
Yr 5 – Cricket Competition10 children from Year 5 took part in the Kwik Cricket Competition organised by Huntingdon Cricket Board. There were 8 schools competing, the children there were organised into 2 groups of 4 schools. Our children played against their 3 different schools in their and came runners up over all. They received medals for their hard work, determination and excellent teamwork. Well done, a great afternoon was enjoyed by all! Yr6 – Cricket CompetitionAgain we took 10 children from Year 6 to the Kwik Cricket Competition organised by Huntingdon Cricket Board. There were 8 schools competing, the children there were organised into 2 groups of 4 schools. We successfully won 2 of our 3 games! A very close run competition, when again our children demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, manners and skill. Well done to everyone involved! Sports dayThis year we were so lucky with the weather and had a beautiful day to round up our Sporting achievements for the year. The KS1 events were in the morning and what a fun crammed morning it was. We are very lucky to have such fabulous Year 6 children who were invaluable in helping organise children in their potted sports and running events. A much needed cool down was kindly provided by the PTA in the form of ice pops. The weather held out for the afternoon when KS2 had the chance to show off their sporting talents. The pressure is always on to see which house colour wins the overall cup. This year after working in their teams for points for in the potted sports, flat races, fancy dress, egg and spoon and relay races, it was the blue team who came out with the most points! Well done blues, but next year it may well be a different story as this year the points were very close! Thanks again to the PTA for those much needed ice pops! ![]()
