RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch16th - 30th January 2012Fenstanton and Hilton Eco-Warriors (FHEW) are hoping to take part in this annual event organised by the RSPB to monitor garden birds nationwide. Some time in the next few weeks FHEW will be observing our feathery friends in a chosen spot in the school grounds for an hour and passing that information onto the RSPB along with schools all over the country. You can join in at home by doing your own birdwatch for an hour over the weekend of 28th/29th January and submitting the results online. Remember that birds also need food year round but especially in the cold winter months so you could make it an opportunity to help your children put up a few simple feeders in your garden, homemade fat balls are very popular with the birds and are cheap and easy to make. Then sit back and enjoy the spectacle! The Happy PrinceLast Friday 14th October we were visited by Image Musical Theatre who performed 'The Happy Prince' by Oscar Wilde. Oscar Wilde's story of a statue and a swallow was enjoyed by the whole school. Some of the children became actors for the play while the rest of the school joined in with the singing as there were several songs to learn.
