Fenstanton and Hilton Primary School - Winter
Welcome
Children only have one childhood. Being part of a community of children is unique within life’s experience. In this school we value every child and strive to enrich the whole person.
We believe that learning should be vivid and real: a joy in itself. We nurture adaptable and flexible learners who are passionate about learning and have the skills to confidently embrace every challenge and opportunity.
This website offers some insights into our school although mainly it is intended to communicate information and celebrate successes with families associated with us. We are still in the process of developing the site and hope you will visit regularly as more and more information is added and our website expands.
If you are moving to the area and would like to visit us to enquire about admissions and look around our school to experience our positive learning environment, please contact the school office to make an appointment. We look forward to meeting you.

Severe Weather
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Snow can cause the school problems because many of our staff travel from a distance and may have serious difficulty getting into school. This could result in us having to close the school. The decision to close the school is NEVER taken lightly because we know it causes our families much inconvenience and pupils lose a day of study. However, safety is of paramount concern. It is also usually difficult to gauge the situation in advance.

RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch
16th - 30th January 2012
Fenstanton and Hilton Eco-Warriors (FHEW) are hoping to take part in this annual event organised by the RSPB to monitor garden birds nationwide.
Some time in the next few weeks FHEW will be observing our feathery friends in a chosen spot in the school grounds for an hour and passing that information onto the RSPB along with schools all over the country. You can join in at home by doing your own birdwatch for an hour over the weekend of 28th/29th January and submitting the results online. Remember that birds also need food year round but especially in the cold winter months so you could make it an opportunity to help your children put up a few simple feeders in your garden, homemade fat balls are very popular with the birds and are cheap and easy to make. Then sit back and enjoy the spectacle!
