Fringe in the Fen - Homework Challenge
What does the Fen mean to you?
On the Fringe in the Fen website you will be able to buy tickets to see the Key Stage 2 children perform 'Friday Afternoons' by Benjamin Britten. This will be on Wednesday 13th July with two performances at 5pm and 7pm. The PTA are also involved in the Festival.
The children will have art work displayed that they have been doing this term. All the children have walked to Fen Drayton Nature Reserve this term and many have been accompanied by Neil Renwick, community RSPB warden. He told us about the wildlife and the history of the Fens. This was to inspire their art work and show them what a wonderful place is on their doorstep to explore and enjoy. He also pointed out the owl houses, swans nest building and a variety of different birds and insects.
Many of you will remember the Homework Challenge we did last year "What 's worth saving?"; This years challenge is "What does the Fen mean to you?" We would like you and the children to work together to tell us about your view / experience of the Fen. This can be done with friends and / or family. We would like you to produce something which communicates what the Fen means to you. We shall display the work in school and invite you to see this. It can be in any form, for example, a painting, a DVD, a PowerPoint, a talk, written stories, models, photographs or dance. I am sure there are other ways too!
If you would like to take part in this Homework Challenge, please could you send in your 'products' after half term from 6th June 2011.
